Italy Plans Fines for Distracted Pedestrians

Italy plans to fine pedestrians who look at phones while crossing roads. A draft road law from the transport department says the fine could be at least 75 euros. The government says the rule may help reduce crashes caused by distracted walkers. Hands-free calls and phone use in emergencies may still be allowed.
