The 83rd Venice Film Festival began in Italy. The festival runs from September 2 to September 12, 2026. Danny Boyle's film Ink opened the event. The film is about media businessman Rupert Murdoch.
The festival also faces criticism. Only one of the 20 competition films was directed by a woman. Some people also criticized the choice of the Russian film DAU.
