China Issues Two Mandatory Standards for Nursing Homes

China has issued two mandatory national standards for nursing homes. One standard gives basic rules for buildings, equipment, services, safety, and daily management. It lists 90 requirements. The other standard helps workers find serious safety risks. It sets three ways to judge these risks.
The standards will start on August 1, 2027. A one-year transition period will help nursing homes prepare.
